Goalkeeper Abdulai Koulibaly scored a penalty on his Borough return, but Heaven Eleven equalised late in the opening game of the 2026/27 season.
The 2026/27 Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division season opened on Sunday with a 1-1 draw between Borough FC and Heaven Eleven, according to FrontPage Africa.
The match was played at the D. Twe Sports Pitch in New Kru Town. Borough goalkeeper Abdulai Koulibaly gave his side the lead in the 70th minute from a penalty.
Heaven Eleven levelled in the 84th minute when Moses Cooper headed in an equaliser, denying Borough all three points.
It was a notable return for Koulibaly, who rejoined Borough on a two-year deal after leaving LPRC Oilers. FrontPage Africa says he also made several key saves to protect Borough's lead. He previously helped the club win two Orange FA Cups and two Second Division titles, back when it was known as Monrovia Club Breweries or Global Pharma FC.
Borough were due to travel to face Gardnersville FC at Tusa Field on Thursday, 22 October, seeking their first win of the season. That result was not available at the time of writing.
